Wildblue/Exede is perfect for me. I love it.

I live out in the country so Wildblue/Exede is perfect for me. I love the speed - both download and upload. It's almost always faster than the advertised and seldom having to wait on a page or file is awesome. I frequently schedule large file downloads for 'free zone' time and it's really satisfying to not have to worry about exceeding my allowance. I get much more than I pay for with Exede and I think they deserve a lot of praise. I started out computing in 1985 and I remember not having ANY internet. I also remember downloading at 1200 baud, taking all day/night to download a few hundred kilobytes. Myron Cockerham, Oakland, AR

It's pouring down rain right now in North East GA. and it's working great. My signal to noise ratio is only 5 db but it's still doing great.

It is nice that there are a few Excede customers that seen happy. Long time Wildblue customers remember when, also. Now we hear Excede customers saying the Excede Network is being flooded with other customers. I am scheduled to pay 79 a month and was paying 70 a month with wildblue. At 49 a month I had good service for about 9 months. Then it got to be as if I had phone connection and no cable. You remember those days, right? Next, I was told if I pay 69 a month my internet would improve! It is totally obvious that they old way to many systems and their systems were not able to handle it! Next was at 69 a month I cannot even update Adobe or even play a game as I get internet too slow! I checked all connections and then they asked... if you pay 79 a month it will improve! It has been over 24 hours and it got worse! Do we see the support of lies here? I was also asked if I would accept Excede! Remember what I said? Excede customers are already complaining too many on Excede! "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice then shame on me!"

MOST customers who visit the  forums do so because they are having problems so it should not be surprising that MOST posts are negative concerning their experience. But MOST customers are happy with their service and therefore never visit the forums.

I just got Exede service because of a Payment issue that I didn't like with AT&T. Exede is doing good so far. The only minor complaint that I have is they were a little late sending me the welcome kit to my address. I received it after my service was installed. Other than that no issues with the service.

I have Exede and when I first found out I was going to have to go with one of these companies I was having second thought about moving. Be we love the house and Exede is doing a great job for me. I am not getting 50 megs like I was getting at the old house, but the speed I am getting is pretty good. I normally wait till have to mid night to do down loads. The old house could do it when ever I wanted to and at 50meg down loads was like a blink of an eye. But I happy with the house, and doing great with exede. No direct tv is another story. My internet hardly ever goes down, direct tv is always going down, and awful customer service, which Excede has been good to me, with great customer service.

My DTV and Exede hold up nicely in a storm. I usually loose Exede first but nearly at the same time in a very bad storm and only for a minute or two usually.

Are you kidding? If you have four people contributing in a positive manor and you reward three of them you just alienated one of them. I don't know why you did it. Maybe you had a reason I don't know.

I remember those days as well, dial-up and all night downloads just to keep the computer up to date, - I live in the country as well and was in the middle of dsl on both sides of my address, talk about just out of reach, then i decided to try wildblue. it was better then dial up but just not what i wanted, had to keep it though. then when exede bought them out i waited at first thinking it was the exact same thing but moved to exede because of the late night free zone and 3 teenagers, i really like what i have now. about 4 months for me, now fiber optics just got ran out my way but i dont see a need to change.

Jep that Kimberly helped me too. I have the internet to stay in contact with my daughters witch are far away, they have never been in a phonebooth or called my landline, cell and texting don't work where I live, so thanks to Exede, the internet and Kimberly I stay close to them. I'm with you Bsweep, Exede stomps dial up big time where I live too and, as long as I'm not over my Priority allowance and, it isn't peak congestion time on my beam, I see speeds like the speed test posted below. It does hold signal well even during a storm. It's stormy here today but, until the electrical storms build this afternoon, I won't loose signal. (DTV is already getting bit pixelated and, on a clear day it has 80 and up on all transponders.) Exede is fine and, usually holds longer than DTV for me.

Dial up here would be 24kbps at best, usually closer to 14.4 and, that would require TWO land lines in my home on lines that don't even support caller ID at a total cost of 150/month. Same total monthly cost and I have Exede and Exede voice with better speed and equal call quality. Definitely an improvement over my alternatives.
