Um "Don't watch no movies" so you do watch movies. Yes, streaming video uses a lot of data and, depending on your plan, you may not have a plan that supports high definition video at all, hence the buffering and, rapid data usage.

Without knowing what plan you have, the best I can suggest is to lower your video stream resolution which has to be done for each service or application on each device separately and, choose what you stream carefully. Stream a movie once for the whole family to watch together rather than streaming it multiple times for each to watch alone. That might help your data last longer and, reduce the buffering as well.

Hi Dontrellz

We're still rolling out but are about to release some major coverage areas. You can always check account.viasat.com to see what's available.

He wants to "upgrade" his service to Viasat 2 and is upset because it isn't available in his area yet.  He thinks he will use less data on the new bird.

50 gb is a huge plan. Have you tried turning on the video optimizer to save data?

I would send an email to viasatlistens@viasat.com to have them check your usage.  On another thread someone mentioned that malware was running in the background and using data.

Another possibility is that someone may have your netgear password and is using your account without your permission.

Each situation can be different, but sending an email to viasatlistens to check your data usage is the first start.  Be sure to include your account number when you email them.

Dontrellz, you really need to send that email and, get a usage review. See what is using your data. That can range form updates to mobile devices you let friends connect once and, can still connect without you knowing, to even someone else getting your wifi password without you knowing they have it.

The engine imbalance is what caused the worm-hole in the first place. It'll happen again if we don't fix it.
