Why does it take half an hour for a chat representative to show up???

That I don't know never used the chat. Not sure what their hours are. Can I ask what the issue you're having that you are trying to do the chat?

supposed to have so many times that I can get an extra gig of data for free.. have only used it once.. and there is nowhere on the site for me to do it on my own

I don't know of any promotion currently available to get free gigs. That program expired months ago.

Are you talking about the great gig giveaway that they were doing? That ended a few months ago, now if you send exedelistens@viasat.com they might be able to do something for you but no promises.
