Every customer service and technical representative I talk to gets exactly 8 times the speed I get when I verify their results. Why does customer service and technical support not understand the difference between MBps and Mbps?
Honestly, how many people really know the difference between megabit and megabyte? Internet speed is typically described in megabit, so, just assume any time ANYONE talks about their speed in megabyte, they really mean megabit. Internet employees SHOULD know better, but, call center employees (at any call center, anywhere, for any company) are rarely properly trained or motivated to learn the the details of their jobs beyond what their training tells them.
