viasat charged my account 4 payments at once

Viasat charged my bank account for my 143 dollar payment PLUS 3 more payments. I have a credit of over 400 dollars, however now I dont have enough money in the bank for my light bill which is due by 5 today or it gets cut off. Viasat says they can issue a refund in 7 to 14 business days. After several attempts I finally got to the main office, who said they could expedite it to 3 to 5 business days. Still not good enough to keep my power from being turned off, then the reactivation fees and the trouble for it being off. They cant even fix their own screw up without excuses. Very disappointed with this company

First and foremost sorry that happened. A few things can cause that like an autopay going out the same time as a regular payment is one of the more common instances. It sounds like the  like the refund went through because 3-5 days is the best possible timeframe. If you're given that time that means it was submitted by the person on the phone.

Why 3-5 days? that's 10000% due to the banks and is out of our control. Our bank has to release the funds and your bank has to accept them. Not all banks work at the same speed so that's the expectation/ETA we give.

They also let you pay your account and if you have a credit card on file, they will also charge your card for the same payment. I have had my account charged for 2 months in a row more than once.

If you have a credit card on file, why in the world would you also make a payment manually? Just let the Viasat autopay system do its thing, on't make manual payments and you won't run into this problem. In the more than 10 years I have had Wildblue, then Viasat, I have never had them take out a payment twice.

I think we may have found the reason some people are charged more than once.
They submit a credit card on file and then also try to do a manual payment.  I also have never been charged more than once in almost 3 years.

That's a problem that happens pretty frequently. If we have you set for automatic payments and you call in to make a manual payment a lot of times that double charge hits as the payment is in a pending status.

Call us at 855-463-9333 and we'll refund the 2nd charge
