Well, I can add further support to a suspicion I have had for a while now about the Viasat app. The app diagnostics only seem to work for me if the satellite is actually connected to the mother ship. Every time I lose connection, the app simply says I have no connection which is a pretty useless diagnostic. Since I have no connection today, I connected to Verizon and ran the Viasat app again. Voila! It actually runs through Verizon and says that I have weather issues, dish alignment issues, etc., most of which I am pretty sure I don’t have. I haven’t walked out yet to look at the dish, but I doubt it fell off its mount during the night as we had only light snow and no wind or ice. A true diagnostic would run on the model as my former DSL diagnostics did and tell you at least that the modem was healthy and tell you where the first missing link in the chain is located as the DSL modem diagnostics would do.
