Unhappy with Early Termination Fee

We had Excede for 14 months and it was by far the worst ISP we have ever had. The 12GB of data disappeared within 2 days and could rarely connect to the internet. We finally got lucky and found Nuwave for our internet. I called to cancel Excede and was never informed of early termination fees and now have been screwed to the tune of another $174.00. I am disgusted with this company and will be sure to inform all our friends to never get this service!!!!!

Hi Jeff

All Exede accounts have a 24 month agreement requirement with the service. If you have a dispute over the point of sales or this fee please email us at exedelistens@viasat.com so we can work with you directly and personally

You know what, Brad, instead of coming on here with your bs big me little you attitude, how about try to get your crappy, lying, company to fix this crap? I'll gladly pay early termination. I'm going to scream at every mountain top VIASAT EMPLOYEES USE DIRECTTV AND AT&T TO CON THEIR WAY INTO THE HOMES OF PEOPLE ON THE NAMES OF TRUSTED COMPANIES AND TGEN REFUSES TO TERMINATE THEIR SERVICES AND FORCES PEOPLE TO PAY TO GET OUT. You set up your service under false pretenses and lied about being associated with those companies when approached with complaints. Liars and cheats!

I don’t trust AT&T. They kept going up on my DSL bill every year so I switched back to Viasat.

For what it’s worth, I had Viasat in the early days of Exede. I had to cancel due to a tight budget. I knew about the early termination fee I had agreed to when signing up for service, I crunched the numbers and I was able to save money in my budget even by paying the ETF. I didn’t try to worm my way out of a contract I had agreed to.

I have some choice words for people who try to cheat on things such as finance, taxes and contracts but I will keep my mouth shut.

Oh I'm not very tall.

Regarding your complaint DirecTV/AT&T does sell our services but we are not the same company and only have a working agreement. They do unfortunately from time to time set up an account that really shouldn't have satellite internet (middle of a city) and we do work with those people so if something you feel was done wrong and want to discuss your bill with us we'll take a look if you email us at viasatlistens@viasat.com

YESSSSSS!!!! Same problem here! DirecTV told me I would have unlimited data for $50 a month for 24 months. When Viasat came out to hook it up, the guy said he had no clue what I was talking about. So I called Viasat up and told them what DirecTV said and the girl on the phone told me that DirecTV lied or I was lying about it. Excuse me! I called DirecTV and got a copy of my call transcript. When I got the email I called Viasat back and they told me DirecTV had NO business telling me that! What?! Y'all told them to tell people that! That's how they sucker them in! So here I am 14 months in paying $67 a month for 12Gbs of data that is GONE in 4 days watching 2 hours of Netflix a day. And that crappy liberty pass

This is precisely why nothing will ever replace a person doing their own research regarding a product or service they are contemplating buying, especially when that product or service includes a contract.

I guess they have to find some way to unwind from the week.  Why not a little deep end activity?  SMH.

What plan are you on and how much data have you used for your current billing cycle?
