Go to Exede.com to see if boost 25 is available in your area, if not then you can't get any faster than up to 12 Mbps. If you are on an augmented beam, then up to 5Mbps might be the best you can get.

Hi danette, Bev is correct.  There is a lot of information about available plans on Exede.com For existing customers, please access myexede.net. It will give you specific information  on what is available for your account.  As always, you can send an email to exedelistens@viasat.com or call our Exede Internet Customer Care line at 855-463-9333.

Hi Danette,

Also, just something to keep in mind, if you do upgrade to the WiFi modem, currently Exede does not support downgrading and you will, consequently, not be able to remove the monthly fee for the modem if you feel it isn't worthwhile.

I'm not sure why anyone would choose to pay extra for the faster modem. At 12Mbs you can use 10 gigs in 2 hours. The vastly more limiting factor with Exede is the amount of bytes you get per month, not the speed.

David, back in December I decided to try it out (not realizing I couldn't go back). Before my beam got congested, it was really fast. If you are on a beam that has very light usage and you're on the Liberty Pass (or the Freedom plan) it can make sense but not otherwise.

Mark, the WiFi modem allows you to utilize the Speed Boost plans which give you up to 25 Mbps but those plans are only available in select areas where congestion isn't an issue.
