Yep I'm pretty happy with my speeds too. You and I must be in a good area to get these speeds, too bad more didn't get these too! I just took my speed test and got 28.6 and 4.67 so I'm happy too! Usually do get these, maybe afternoons are a little less but not bad, I still get around online just fine! I don't do a lot of video watching either. Glad you are happy too!

It's Sunday during the day.  I typically see the best speeds of Viasat all week during the morning on Sunday.

Right now I am pulling 6.4Mbps.  For me, that is VERY good.  lol

I seem to recall you have a cable attenuation 'situation' that if corrected could improve.... everything about your service... or am I thinking of someone else???

In your mind I do. Tech support says otherwise.

Yup... I might have the wrong person.  Someone here was tolerating about a 28db loss and didn't care yet their service was always crappy.

My service isn't always crappy. I am on the most congested beam of Viasat-1. A few weeks ago on a Sunday morning I was pulling 18+ Mbps. During primetime I have pulled as low as 27kbps. Now that is some wild fluctuation!

ViaSat seems to be not-to-accurate at determining anticipated loads.  They have brilliant engineers but lack in understanding human nature.

ViaSat Education about humans 101:

Lesson #1: Give them an inch and they'll take a mile.

Lesson #2: Give them an unlimited data plan with 150GB of priority data and they'll use it, promptly... not a good idea on VS1 (remember lesson #1).

Lesson #3: More people build their entire home life around the Internet than ever expected.  (They should have seen this one coming.  Americans used to spend waaaaay too much time in front of their TV, now it's the Internet).

Lesson #4: People have an addiction to the Internet, so if anything happens to adversely affect their 'connection' they will go crazy and ViaSat is solely to blame.

You are very lucky. This has been my speed lately. I called customer service and was told that it was due to being peak hours. Peak hours are 6:00AM and 8:00PM??? They told me all I can do is to keep unplugging the modem. They said I didn’t need a service tech because I was still connecting to the satellite (even though I couldn’t use the internet at all). Have no idea what to do about it.

Have you posted your modem stats on here? Speeds should NEVER be that slow at 6:00am, or even primetime for that matter.

It looks like you have something else going on besides congestion Kim.  6 am should be a lot better than that!  Looks like you are in need of a service call.
