I've got no reason to view this forum every day since my Liberty 12 plan works pretty dang good, but for some reason I keep coming back.

This forum is like bad crack.  For some reason I keep coming back for more even though I know I don't need it.

Lol. I don’t see how you visit it everyday on Liberty 12. Must take forever to load on Liberty Pass :). It is funny that people with top tier plans have problems with speed and you truck right on along with one of the lowest plans offered. Hopefully Exede has more foresight with how ViaSat 2 is configured.

So far tonight ive watched a few episodes of How I met Your Mother, What Happened to Monday, and now I'm watching Full Metal Jacket.

I download stuff when the network isn't busy using Playon and watch all the video I want during primetime using Plex and my Roku.

No complaints from me. I love my Liberty 12 plan.

I know what you mean but, it isn't bad crack, it's good "Satellite Secret Sauce." Just ask Exede Alex. LOL.

I'm on Unlimited Silver so been streaming a few thing at all hours, not bad, just keep the screed computer sized or smaller.

Stephen, do you have the free zone with Liberty 12 and do you take advantage of it? The free zone is why I won't give up my Classic plan. I have 5 hours of "unlimited" per day, with no restriction on video resolution and for a third of the cost of Silver. Not a bad deal for me either.

I have the Liberty 12 plan with a free zone from 3am to 6am.  At first I was doing most of my large downloads during the free zone to save priority data.  Doing this, it took me about two weeks to use up my 12 GB of priority data.

Then I realized that even after I used my priority data, the Liberty Pass still worked pretty dang good.  Now I could care less about using up my priority data since I'm getting really good speeds outside of primetime.

Honestly, whats the point in going nuts to save data, when I consistently get awesome speeds anyway after using my data?

Fast.com is pulling 6.1 mpps for me this morning and Testmy.net is pulling 9.1 mbps this morning.  Both of these test were done just a moment ago while my Playon server is pulling video at the same time.

Of course, once primetime kicks in my speeds will suffer.  The connection drops as far down as 256k which is fine for browsing the web, but not perfect for video.  I'm not worried about the low speeds affecting video for me though since I already have 300 GB of material saved on my Playon server.

I have no reason to cry about using up my 12 GB of priority data.  I guess I'm just really lucky to be on a good beam.  Anyone living near Baton Rouge, Louisiana on the same beam as me could probably do the same on a Liberty plan.  Anyone else on a congested beam probably wouldn't be so lucky until Viasat 2 goes live.

I get on daily too!!! (but mostly b/c it's my job haha)

How does Plex work for you Stephen? I've been interested in it but I think I should get some storage first.

I think doing the legwork you've done to make the 12 work is something a lot of people would benefit from but I think most casual users may not do it but still want to stream.

Exactly Brad. I think most users want it to be idiot proof and just work at all times, no matter what they do online or, how much of it they do, no matter the weather, need for maintenance or whatever.

Like most I know, push the button and it works flawlessly, or it doesn't and, if it doesn't the manufacturer or provider MUST be to blame. The old "All I did was use Facebook and, I'm out of data." Yep, no media blockers, no setting autoplay to off, no actually checking to see how much data Facebook used in one day, no ad blocker, just click and go and, out of data in a week.

Maybe a running tally of data being transmitted tacked at the top of the browser automatically would help, Or a big flashing pop up with data transmitted in the last five minutes every five minutes. LOL. (I'm joking, we don't want that.)

Bev pretty much hit the nail on the head. People want everything spoon-fed to them these days. You have people with college degrees that don't even know how to change oil in a vehicle.

What I have done isn't very complicated, but when I get home I will try to sit down and write a small document describing the hardware I'm using, the software I'm using ,and how it all works together. Hopefully someone will blame me for not giving them a can of cheese whiz to go with their movies.
