Data should roll over

Come into the computer age, and deliver the data to the customer.  Oh I know, I get some each month out of the 15GB package I purchase, unless I "Exceed" the limit... that is understandable.  Regardless, as in the early days of cell phones, with data limits or call limits per month, (minutes it was called WAY BACK THEN) the next level of evolution was ROLLOVER.  So if I bought 100 minutes and didn't use all of them, they were still mine, and could be used later on, in the next month or months... until it became possible to just sell unlimited plans.

The GB of Data that I pay for with Exede unfortunately are not treated like I actually BOUGHT them, but rather that they are available, such as a buffet dinner.  But what If I can't make it to the buffet, due to working out of state or being away visiting a sick relative, or anything that takes me away from home.  Those data should still be mine when I return, and the concept of Rollover would not add a data problem, since it is miniscule.  I will be going away for 6 weeks, and there is no way to stop the flow for that time and have it when I get home.

Last season, Exede did offer a short term "giveaway" of up to 30 gigs to be used within 6 months, which was indeed nice.  How about just getting into the 21st century and making data roll over.  It would be good, and easy for programmers to track, although I have NOT had any problem with tracking my data, and feel it is fairly monitored.

P.S.  Bigger data programs are available locally, and if Exede doesn't keep up, I will instruct them to remove their equipment from my property at end of contract.  Hughes.net and Dish.com both have service here, bigger data plans at same price.  When I asked Exede about this they basically said, "Don't let the door hit you where the good Lord split you on the way out."

Not great customer service in that regard.

Good to know that Exede seems to have the same Customer Service people, as the cable company I dumped when I switched over.

I'm beginning to think that all ISP's use the same 5 or 6 incompetent, rude people for their Customer Service needs.

There is not a single mega conglomerate that really cares.... at&t, verizln, comcast, any of them. I hear horror storys...but then again... same with any other utility...in fact...ive never heard any one seriously say anythibg good about a utility company.

You must not realize that Dish uses EXEDE  as does other sat. companies for the internet service for their customers...so, no....you really don't have any other sat options for internet.

DishNet uses both Exede and Hughes. You can ask for the one you want in most areas.

Unfortunately at this time we do not offer rollover data options or have immediate plans to do so. We do however give all customers the option to change their package at any time to better reflect their usage and needs. If you are on one of our middle plans and are not using the data each month, we wouldn't expect you to stay on that plan and will gladly help you find a more appropriate plan to reflect your usage. Outside of that we do offer a "buy more" option if you need just a little more data in a month. We do anticipate more exciting plans to be available with the launch of ViaSat 2 next summer.
