Exede is by far the worst company I have dealt with. Data runs out after a week & a half of having paid it. Internet is extremely slow.Haven't had service at all for over a week now. "They can't do anything about it" very, VERY disappointed in Exede. I rate them a 0/10.

Once you use your data up, your connection is throttled back to a fairly low speed. It is not Exede's fault that you aren't able to control your data usage. I am on the Classic 10 GB plan and have never run out of my data. On satellite internet, everyone has to learn how to budget their usage habits.

Mine is the same I run out after a week in a half to 2 weeks after having paid for it. I do budget our Internet use and it does it for me as well. Also sir if you are running internet for just you or for a family. I have kids who have to use the internet for homework. For example the wi-first kicks in and out. Exceed says it's the router buts it's brand new. Then said it was the wrong brand of router. Won't say that the signal is poor. Says that slow is ok and sometimes it does help to move the mouse. It took 9 hours to download Microsoft Office online. Who can site for 9 hours and move the mouse so that the page loads? Would that have cut the time to 4 1/2 hours instead. Oh and I can upgrade to 12 GB for $40 more than I pay now for 10 GB.

If you ever purchase another product like MS Office be sure you ask for the disc to install it from. NEVER download software with satellite internet if you have other options. Educate yourself on how to limit your bandwidth usage and you will be much happier with Exede. It is the best option for those who cannot get cable or good DSL. There are lots of helps on Exede's customer portal. Call Customer Support at 866-945-3258 and they can give you a breakdown of what is eating up your data. I think you are also confused about plans available to you. It will not cost you $40 to go from 10 to 12 GB plan. If the freedom plan is available to you, it will  cost you $10 to go from 10 (classic plan) to 12 GB (freedom plan). If you are on classic plan it wil cost you $30 more to go from 10 to 15 GB. If you are on satellite internet it is essential that you become knowledgeable about data usage.

Hello Irma,

Jim is very correct on what he said in terms of how we can help. We may be looking at a data issue (updates for software and phones have been CRAZY the last 2 months with Windows and IOS 9 being back to back) so we would be more than happy to look to see if that's a factor. It could also just be a matter of seeing what's available to you in your area, we may not have you in the right package for your needs. Either way there's several options for helping you. You can reach us directly via email at and I'll be more than happy to look this over for you.

Never download software updates of that size across satellite internet! It is slow, and terrible for those of us that moved out of the city and into the country. Until there is more bandwidth, satellite will never be able to compete with other forms of internet access. You cannot stream movies, or music, or anything of that nature. You can watch a movie maybe once or twice a month if you stream nothing else. Streaming is appx 1 to 2 G per hour, depending on the resolution. The free zone at night can be used to stream and copy videos with your DVR or a service such as If I had any other choice for service, I would never choose satellite internet. It should be a last resort for those that wish to use the internet for anything except email and facebook. I would even use DSL instead of satellite if I had the option, simply because of the data limit.
