Anyone that watches this Communication page knows I am not the one to hold back, normally I am taking up for Exede. I have always gotten ok service, it the best that I am going to get and the cost of living in the country. But this is not  right EXEDE!! Why when I am surfing I should not have you survey pop up and if I "X" out of it, it will come back. I pay for this service I do not need your pages popping up to bother me. I so want it removed, its getting on my nerves, I have stuff to do on the internet and do not need your surveys popping up. I really feel you are invading my privacy, plus using my bandwidth for the month. Lately it has sucked any ways, but I dont say nothing, I know it might clear up soon. But this survey is not needed and I WANT IT OFF!!! I have always backed this company up when there is issue, so I do say good thing about EXEDE, So when I complain you know I am upset and I am. Dont tell me its not using my allotted time, because there is a voice on it and that voice file, uses bandwidth.

Why not just block popups in your browser, use AdBlock Plus add on, etc. I have never had any surveys pop up, but then I have all those things blocked.

I've been reading about Exede for over 2 years and I've never saw anyone mention a servery popup. I'd be interested in hearing from one of the Exede people if this is something new Exede has started. If they did this to me, they wouldn't want my opinion. I'm not sure AdBlock Plus would see this as an ad and block it, although Ghostery might block it.

Its not a pop up, it a complete new screen. I will be doing something and this screen pops up and covers up what I was doing. I do have no pop ups set. Its crazy, and upsetting. I have X out of it about 10 times tonight, while I was trying to do other things. Thank you Steve, I going to check out AdBlock, to see if it will stop that. I dont think it will the way it comes up it a separate tab. I guess I could just leave it open and go back to what I was doing maybe it wouldnt open up again. But I shouldnt have to, they should be allowed to do this.

Have you done a full scan for virus on your computer? I have had Exede for over 2 years and have never had anything pop-up. Could be a virus.

Yes I have, but it seems to be a problem with Chrome. I had a issue with a warning pop up and wanting you to purchase this virus program. But here is the issue, this company, even if I was hit with something, do not do this for free. They had to get the information from Exede that I am with them and that I did make a call. The pop up stated this, and was part of the survey. So I was upset that Exede paid for this service. Some one did in order for them to send this pop up, know I call it a pop up, but this was like a web page that opened on a new tab. It would just flash in front of you, without you doing anything. So times it even scared you the way it flashed right at you.

You can find out someone's ISP by their IP address, so, no, exede didn't have to hire anyone to direct that pop-up at you, it's just well programmed.  Try using adwcleaner, http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/adwcleaner.html a tool designed expressly to get rid of adware.

I use to use Chrome all the time and started having issue with it being hit with adware. So I moved back to explorer and all ran fine, but really like chrome for some reason. So I deleted it, ran all kind of checks and my system was clean. I downloaded and installed Chrome again and seems like the issue is coming back. I ran all the adware programs I could find, and I have one running all the time and did not find anything. But I did add Adblock and seems to be doing a great job.

Check for an adware application that may have been installed along with another recent application install. Ive seen them installed on any number of applications and frequently the instructions on how not to install (or skip) are overlooked. This frequently occurs when applications are distributed by another download site other than the actual vendor's (even then some insist on installing something that's not wanted). More often than not they are harmless and can be quickly removed with Add/Remove Programs under Windows, but there are exceptions..

Good Call. Also watch out for free antivirus software. They are getting bad too.

Hello Danielbo, I am not aware of any pop-up ads from us but can look into it. I would suggest, as stated above, to get an AdBlocker, because any ads would have been auto-generated.

I have been on Exede for over 33 months now, and have never had any surveys show up. As Old Labs stated above, you may have unknowingly downloaded a survey company's crapware program along with a download you did recently. I have seen this type of stuff included in some downloads, and the default is to include it. Most often as search programs, tool bars, but they can be almost anything, and you must "uncheck" the little box to not have it put on your computer.

Yes I believe that also Steve. I see you too, helping me support Exede many times. The issue I had is that Exede supported this service to allow it to be done. It was not coming from Exede, but it was a service that seemed to be hired by them. The reason I believe this, is they did know I was a customer of Exede. I just was upset they supported a company to allow them to put a adware on you computer. But thank you so much for you information on ad blocker. I did a search and added it, and so far no issues. Was in a grumpy mood last night, and trying to get something done in the internet and that dam thing kept popping up about every 5 minutes. So I had to get it out of my system. I am a firm backer of Exede and never have once lied if cable would ever come my way, that would be the only reason for me to move from Exede. Thanks buddy, this is what I like about this community, we can help each other, if some people would settle down a little and let us help. Exede employees are great in helping on here too. I love them all and also enjoy reading your post also.

Thank you Amber, I did put this on. It is annoying, I can be doing something on the net and a complete new tab will just pop up, and it is from Blue Bird, (I believe) and asking me to fill out a survey on my service from Exede, Then it tell me I would be awarded with special gifts at the end of the 12 questions. I did add that adblocker and hoping it will help. I do want to say, I am sure this is not being done by Exede, but its is a hired company doing it. I just do not believe they should of had a company be allowed to disturb their customers. If they want a survey filled out, I would be more than happy to fill it out on a email, or have the option out of it.
I am a big supporter for Exede, you can ask Kimberly, for me to place a complaint in not me. Not that I am thrilled about the company, but that is because I came from cable at 50mps unlimited. So I can believe you understand that. But I know what I am getting and do not have a problem with it. Direct TV could hear a few bad things from me and they have over the phone. I am disappointed with that company. I hate their commercials where they put down cable, there is no comparison between them a cable TV. Cable TV is the most reliable TV service. Plus to have retired from the cable business so I do have a love for the cable service. They help pay my Direct TV bill, my mortgage and allows me to eat. LOL  You guys are most helpful and I did put that adblocker on last night and did not have any issues with it after I did. I just was upset they Exede supported something like this.

This is not from Exede. I'd be interested to see what URL you're on or a screenshot of the survey. Sounds like you're being cookied from somewhere.

I would love to send it to you, I would need to remove the pop up program that was suggested to put on. If I can find a way just to suspend the program I will. I would also like to have more information on what the deal is. Thank you

Danielbo,

It's likely that you have an AdWare application inadvertently installed and the AdBlock application is simply blocking the AdWare popup(s). Assuming you're using Windows, go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs to see what might seem to be suspicious looking application - it may be as simple as uninstalling it from there if you can isolate it.

Alternately, assuming you're using AdBlock or AdBlock Plus it can be temporarily disabled through its settings. Chances are the URL won't be displayed in the popups address bar though.

I will !

Tell me:
  1. Are you setting at your computer now?
  2. Is it on?
  3. What do the flashing lights on the belly of a 747 @ 37,000 feet mean?
  4. Have you re-booted your modem?
  5. Is it on?
  6. Sin entender su respuesta? "No understand your answer?"
  7. Press 9 to continue...

It's really obvious that your computer has been affected with some kind of adware like adchoices. The adware is good at displaying various pop-ups when you're browsing web pages. So if you always got pop-up ads when browsing every web page, you should check your computer system.
