Over a month has passed i talked to 2 techs and no end to my problem, last person that i talked tryed to flip the problem on me saying that's just normal heavy traffic on the beam, and there's nothing they can do. Lies ! i have my brothers connection 1 mile away from me 20MB While mine is 1 Mb this is not normal.

Investigate your system.  I had a speed related problem and actually came here to this forum seeking help and opinions (https://community.exede.com/exede/topics/speed-throttled-if-using-p2p-filesharing).

I investigated my own system and found the problem was in my computer.  The NIC (Network Interface card) had buffer allocation issues and I also still had the default Windows automatic updates 20% bandwidth reserve intact which has since been disabled.

If you have a WiFi router and a USB network adapter, install the USB device and dis-connect the Ethernet cable from your computer.  Test again while the USB device handles your internet connection and see what difference may be noticed.  My speeds went to about 28MB/sec using the USB device.  I enjoy high speeds all the time probably because I live in the Silicon Valley area of California and the beam is lightly loaded due to abundant competition elsewhere.

If using a different NIC or method of connecting to the Internet solves your problem, download new drivers for your built-in NIC and install them, test Ethernet connections again, they may get cured.

To realize a 20% speed-up, disable Windows Update bandwidth reserve.  "Google" Windows Update bandwidth reserve and depending on your system, choose instructions to disable.  This makes Windows Update stand in line like the rest of us to get updates speed and will not adversely affect your system.

Christian, We had the same problem they sent a tech out and we found out the dish had moved just a little bit over the winter the tech tightened the screws and did a little realigning and all is good now. That could be the problem since everyone around you is getting a good signal Hopefully this will help you.

Well spent most of day dealing with the same problems.  Tried seeing if there was anything wrong with the router, modem, and adapter.  Nothing there.

So went with my last resort, did a System Restore to a day before when had regular speeds.  And it worked.  Speeds were back normal.  I know its not much help, wish I could have pinpointed the main problem.

Hi Michael, that is great news your that your speeds returned to normal after a system restore. That is certainly an option that is available in troubleshooting if it fits the customer’s needs.

Cristian, per our previous conversation I have escalated this issue over to my engineers to review and find out why these congestion speeds are below normal for you. I greatly appreciate your patience during this process. I will be sure to keep you updated.  Thank you.
