I have had excede for less than a week and have used 75%of my data 7.5 gigs. My wifi data recorded only 1.7 gigs of data. What's up with that????

Hello Mike,

Some data consumption's that customers are typically unaware of are: storage, media, UPDATES, or communications. The number of wireless devices on your home network can also play a major role concerning data usage. If you’d like, I can take a look at your account and provide some of your used data based on your daily traffic. Please send us your account and contact info to exedelistens@viasat.com

Same here. I never make it beyond 10 to 15 days without going into data restriction. I watch NO videos, simply read online & write a blog. No matter what, by day 10 or 15, I am ALWAYS in data restriction. Some detailed answers would help. I can't hold for customer service on daytime cell minutes. Chat almost never stays connected. And my connection even on Day 1 is SO SLOW.

BTW, I am NOT on Wi-Fi but 'hardwired in' on a mini Dell laptop.

Same here-bandwidth missing and I'm not using it...The "customer service"? has told me I have a hidden data storage somewhere on my computer. Wrong, I built it, loaded it with only the software I want. I do not have a "hidden" data backup. She actually had the nerve to tell me to take it to a professional-why, that's how I make money. Don't ask to talk to a supervisor-they won't let me near them. The techs also claim its another device.  I have a flip phone, no tablets, or any devices except these 2 computers that have access to the net.  I've resorted to unplugging my router every night but the "disappearing bandwidth" continues.  Last night .4 megs disappeared even though we both stayed off the net and unplugged the router early.  My bios will not allow anything to "wake up" the puter, since I programmed it to do so.  This router is 8 years old, and the techs claim it is still 100%. C'mon, REALLY, with all the brownouts and lightning strikes that happen out here over the years they claim the router is still good AND 100% reliable.  It wouldn't be so bad IF they really tried to help instead of talking down to me like I"m not tech savvy.  All they are interested is getting me off the phone and out of their hair. Bottom line is THEY ARE STEALING. I wish I had another service to go to-too far in the country and too many trees. I could keep going, but this is enough for now. All I want for Christmas (same wish as in the last 4 years-or when Exede took over Wildblue is a good- reliable- unlimited bandwidth provider)

Daughter had WildBlue before Exede & she says the same thing. Customer Service truly is a joke 9.9 times out of 10 so I don't go there, eats up my cellphone minutes. When their 'engineers' make this BIG a mistake, saying I have a ROUTER, well, maybe we're just up against too high a brick wall. There are no other options out here. It's perhaps that very thing that makes customer service so bad? It's them or nothing?
My son is IT, remotes in to help me when it gets impossible, but he's given up on this. The problem lies with the PROVIDER, but they seem averse to a REAL fix.
I'm a retired 'elderly' person on a fixed income, so their service fees are way out of my range, but to pay for service & sometimes NOT get service? Yeah, that's not right. And to have to put up with these modems ( I am NOT Wi-Fi) for years & years & the problem not be identified, we're given reasons like "you have a router", when we DON'T? I dunno...maybe just give up...I really think a good quality modem would at least help. Maybe.
