Port 2222 blocked or in some way encumbered?

I'm a developer that works at home, and a service I used (called Pantheon) needs to use port 2222 for ssh/git.  For some reason, it's not working at all using that port (most get a 'connection reset by peer' error.) Any ideas why this might be? I've been able to just use an SSH tunnel via port 3333 to a server I have, but it would make my life a lot easier if I could just use port 2222.

So I am a work from home software engineer as well.  I subscribe to NordVPN but any to them like ExpressVPN would work.  Once I am on the VPN I can shell on to Pantheon because the traffic gets past the block encrypted in my connection to the VPN.  I suggest you go get a free trial and give it a go.

Hello Maxwell, port 2222 is a common vector for malware which will cause Viasat to block that port. Have you had issues with malware?
