Numerous Outages Lately

I have been experiencing numerous Exede internet outages lately.  By outage I mean no internet, a GET is issued and nothing returns, so the browser times out.  The modem page states all is well and connected to the satellite.  No weather issues.  I am sure there is no problem on my end.  Then at some point the service will return and all is ok.

I never experienced these outages  in the few years I have used Exede, until they started in the past couple months.  The outage can be as long as over a day, or for a few hours, or like today- several times of less than an hour.  I have been down 4 or 5 times today. 

I had called customer service during the day long outage and a technician stated there was a network problem in my area, but thats all he would say. 

I am in the south central Virginia area, around Roanoke. 

Has anyone else been experiencing these outages?  Does anyone know the cause?

Same here on Beam 329 in Virginia, Lovelock Gateway and SLC core node. All the lights are on, but nobody's home - appears to be an ongoing DNS problem at either the gateway or core node.

I know we've seen a few higher than usual in the last week or so. The HUGE DDOS attack that crippled the internet on Saturday definitely didn't help much. We are committed to working on this and hope to see this occurrence shrink

Beam 329 here also. Yes, there have been issues for a while now. Today lost internet connection a couple of times. I would wager it is happening on a daily basis - multiple times.

When I am down I cant access via numeric ip address either, so doubt my particular problem is with dns.

We're in California, same problem here. The last week it's outage after outage. To what point do we as the customer get refunded to outage days? We're paying for full month of internet and only getting partial service?????

I just went through this two weeks ago on my beam. It really is a problem at the gateway and, they will get it fixed.

From my experience, what happens is that the final fix takes several days to get in place so, they keep putting what amounts to band aids on it to get people connected as much as possible but, those don't last long. Sometime power cycling the modem gets you back online for a little while but, the final fix has to be done by Exede.

I was annoyed when it happened to me too, but it really will get fixed, just be patient.
