Got exede installed today and did a download speed test and it was over 18MBPS. Everything works well so far, I have no lags in videos like I did with Dishnet!

Hi mferner,
It can during the hours when everyone is home and so on, but not always. It depends on the amount of users on your beam. I have never had a real issue with the speed up or down.

Cloud's and rainy/ snow conditions might also have an effect. Snow stuck on the dish can mess with the signal.

If you are new to satellite internet service compared to cable or DSL. Then watch your data usage, most importantly, movie and video downloads. They can gobble up the Gig's fast. Be aware of "automatic downloads like Windows 8" also.

Read through the forum responses on controlling your data usage and you should be OK.

Hope it helps, welcome to the forum, if you have any question  just ask.

Hi Everett, Yeah I kinda figured it may be slower during the evening, I was just on Dishnet but I switched to exede because they dont charge for web surfing, Dish did! With exede I got 15 GB for 6 months then it goes down to 5Gb after that I will upgrade to the next package because I watch alot of youtube videos and I usually watch 3 hours of wrestling Monthly online! I just checked my modem status Is Rx SNR: 6.1dB Good? Thanks for your response!

Hi Marcus,
My understanding for the Rx SNR meter is 10db is spot on, as in 10 by 10.

It depends on your location and if your on the fringe of the beam. many people do have 6db more or less and do not notice any real differences.
