I have a Basic Recovery Plan without wifi. I was thinking about getting a wifi router so we could watch netflix at night. Will I need a new plan?
I don't use much data before 5pm. I'm looking for more data without spending too much more money.

Hello Debra,

There are very few routers that are not compatible with our service, so you have many options to choose from. You will not need a new plan if you decide to add a router to your service.

Feel free to follow the links provided for compatibility router types.

Debra,

I’m not sure if you’re aware but Exede Now offers an WIFI MODEM the modem can accommodate up to four wired devices.

The Exede WiFi Modem is available as an upgrade for an additional $5 a month in most areas. In some areas, the modem is available with Boost 25 — up to 25 Mbps download speeds. Please understand that if you get off your “Recovery Plan” you will not be able to get it back and yes, you would need one of our current packages going forward if you choose to upgrade.

The Exede WiFi Modem consolidates three devices into one: a modem for internet access, a dual-band wireless router and an integrated home phone service adapter for Exede Voice service.

Existing customers, if available in your area: The modem will be delivered to your home with easy, self-installation directions. To find out if the modem is available in your service area, visit Exede.com and type in your zip code.

As I recall, recovery act plans are limited to Wildblue and not Exede, but perhaps Lindsey can clarify that. Not sure whether there are recovery act plans that offer more data or whether Wilblue speeds are sufficient for Netflix at higher resolutions.

Regardless, you can always purchase your own WIFI router - most of us who were on Wildblue before switching to Exede utilized wireless routers.

IF ya dont know how to use a router... go to the ip address that is located into the manual. also the default user name is... admin and the default password is admin OR password

also... IF ya need to go into command prompts and type in ipconfig /all <---- just copy and paste it into the command prompts BUT!!! also dont forget to use it into admin command prompts... THEN you will having to scroll down and you will see default gateaway that is your ip address... BUT!!! ONLY do this if ya cant find it into the manual itself...

also as my router came in it has a password already on it onto the plastic so ive logged into using the madeup password and VOLA!!! I was able to get in and change the current password :3 so yeah hope this helps!!! :3
