My speeds dont speed up when I should be in LNFZ

Last weekend on Saturday night, I stayed up to Skype with friends. My data limit had been reached, so I arranged with them to talk after midnight. I stayed up until 2am with no speed increase. I should have been in my LNFZ time, but nothing.

I emailed Exede but nobody answered.

Last night I stayed up for my LNFZ time and it came on at about 11:50pm (ten minutes early). Tonight it is 12:41am and my LNFZ time still has yet to kick on! I am very frustrated with this and want Exede to do something about this!

Has anyone else had issues like this?

EDIT: The LNFZ came on at 1:08am... After I tried buying more data. This is unreal.

There have been reports of that sporadically occurring over the two plus years I've been on an Exede plan.

I suspect that the LNFZ is Accelenet server initiated since I find no evidence of a clock in the modem (a timer/stopwatch but not a clock). I wouldn't be surprised to find that the server occasionally oversleeps.

I've observed it late coming out of the LNFZ on occasion - I'm not complaining about that one though and you didn't hear that here - no need to fix the exit until fixing the entry please  ;)

That's also the reason that may of us have requested an LNFZ (or EBFZ) indicator on both the usage page as well as the modem's status page.

How can you determine when the LNFZ is engaged?

You really can't - it's more observation (usually noticeable when DAP'd - not so easily noticed when not until it shows on the meter).

According to Exede's online doc, the modem reboots at the beginning and the enf of the LNFZ. If you go to address 198.162.100.1 in a browser (that's what mine is, YMMV, you can see modem/tria stats and performance details.

Kentuckienne, the modem does a soft reboot at the start and finish of the LNFZ, but that does not reset the "Online Time" indicator. Only a hard reboot will reset the timer to zero, so there is no indication, as Old Labs stated above.

Corey, I'd be glad to look into this and "do something" about it for you. I am looking for your email but am finding a few different Coreys'. Please send a new email to exedelistens@viasat.com and I will keep a lookout for it. Thank you.

Ditto for me--actually my wife--who stays up late to view YouTubes of crafting videos. She has complained that there is no noticeable speed increase at the time when the LNFZ should be in effect. And this occurs consistently. With all these people complaining of the same thing, surely there must be a "techy" fix to this issue. If the LNFZ really begins at a fuzzy/maybe time, instead of precisely at 12 midnight, then say that!! Dont mislead us.
If, on the other hand, the LNFZ process is like Lab Rescuer states (AcceleNet) initiated, then I would expect Exede to begin the initiation "on time" and take care of your customers. We are at your mercy.

I get DAP'd monthly due to LNFZ not starting when it should. I don't have time to jump through the hoops that tech. support requires to prove it.
It's just hopeless.
