Modem won't turn on until it's cooled down.

Modem turns off randomly, then won't turn back on when I try to reset it. After "cooling down" for a period of time I usually can get it to reset and start up, but this is annoying as hell. Especially when I know a new modem and power supply would solve the problem.

If you call and tell them that, they should send you a different modem, no?

Is this the modem being used?  Can a fan be heard running?  Is it well ventilated?

I would power down (unplug from wall socket), and check all cable connections, from modem to dish, and insure they are tight.  Myself, I would disconnect them, and reconnect.

Once unit is powered up, it may take awhile before a link is established.  Click on this link: http://192.168.100.1/?page=modemStatus to see what your stats are when running.

"Turning on"???  Do you mean the modem will not lock to the satellite or the top light on the modem never turns on until after the modem cools?

If the top light on the modem is lit then you may have a different problem..

Is the modem positioned properly? It needs to be VERY well ventilated. Not on its side or anything. is it a viasat 2 modem? Wifi modem? Or SB2 modem?
