I have the Lifetime Lease on Equipment (on time $299 charge for modem , ie no monthly charge for the modem), if I ever wanted to go to the Boost modem unlimited plans, do you know if I would be charged for the change over to the required Boost modem or would I just be exchanging it for no charge?

Thanks Stephen, do you know if the Lifetime Lease option is still available for the new boost modem plans?  Right now I don't think I will made that switch to a boost plan but be nice to know what my options were

Charles,

With the lifetime lease, you would be given a pro-rated credit for your current modem when you upgrade to the newer ones.

I have the same situation.  I have a lifetime lease just purchased in December 2017 and I want to upgrade to the new satellite and have the dish moved.  Viasat is telling me I can upgrade, but I would have to start from scratch and I would be out $299.

You bought a lifetime lease a couple months ago? Were you not aware of what was arriving a few weeks from then?

No, I had no idea that by purchasing a lifetime lease would negate any future upgrades to equipment.

thanks for the info Matt.B.  So I started my current service with new equipment June 2015 and my 2 year commitment expired June 2017,( ie no penalty if I drop the service). So I paid $299 Lifetime lease then, roughly how would they be pro-rating that? Would I be getting a pro-rated cost on the new modem toward a new Lifetime Lease on it or some sort of credit toward the monthly modem charge?  I'm not asking for an exact dollar amount, just some general idea as to how all of this would work out.  How that would equate out in actual cost to me... If you could just flesh out you answer a little more that would help.  Thank you in advance for your time and effort.

You paid for a lifetime lease?  Or you have just been paying monthly for more than 24 months?  The latter will continue, unfortunately.

Thanks for your comments, what y'all said sounds about right on the way they would work it out and also enjoyed the good natured banter.
