I know people have been reporting better speeds but

Here is what I am pulling at around 9:45pm on Wednesday, May 16th:

Download :: 530 kbps

Honestly, I have not seen any speed improvement for the most part during primetime in several weeks now.  The holidays were bad, of course, then January and February was okay, but since late March primetime speeds on been pretty lousy.

Until the problems get fixed with Viasat 2 things won't improve much. Then again, we may have to wait for Viasat 3.

Well I am hoping people move to Viasat-2 :).  But given the plans, how much incentive is there to do that?

Lets hope the stuff they are working on now helps but, I'm already pretty sure I won't see better until VS3.

I'd settle for something like this for Mobile Internet. That's for TV via satellite but, same idea for internet could work.

It was easy to tune the old one way systems.  Of course, you needed a dial-out line to make it work.  So that wouldn't work for a truck!  It's the two-way the complicates the issue.  But they do it on the planes.  Bev, you just need to upgrade from a truck to air cargo!  Problem solved.

Well, all of this is via satellite in cab. Can't be too tough to add full internet to it.

Looks like you got 3G as it is!  Faster than dial-up!

That's only for backup and, uploading scanned documents. 99% of it is all satellite. Logs, dispatch messages, navigation, etc... Works without cell signal or wifi, just can't upload without one of those.

Can talk to dispatch, get direction, log hours, change trailers, report pick up or delivery, send load information to dispatch, etc... with none of those but, UP (transmit) via satellite is limited to text only.

It is amazing how bad primetime speeds are, but how quickly speeds can change 3 hours later.  By 12:40am (approximately 3 hours later), I am pulling 9.5Mbps.  Just goes to show how bad network congestion can cause issues!
