I cannot reach the ncsecu.org web page. The web page will not open and I get the message "This page cannot be displayed. This started sometime after 12/10/16. I can reach the site using my mobile phone data or from a different internet provider but not Exede. Tech support was unable to provide any answers. I have never had any problems reaching this web site and this is the only web site I cannot reach. Does any one have any ideas of what is causing this problem?

Hi Richard
I just loaded the page and had no problem. You might want to empty or clear your browsers cache and try again. Good Luck.

I just checked this site, it loads fine for me. It looks like a problem on your end.

This web site is the only site I am having a problem with on both my desktop and laptop. I have tried using different browsers and cleared the cache on each browser. I have disabled Norton Security too. The site will load normally at a friend's house or work. Something has changed at either Exede or the CU since last weekend but neither could provide and answer.

Richard, have you tried connecting your laptop directly to your modem with an Ethernet cable and trying to connect to that site? If it connects, then your router has a setting wrong, or other problem in the router.

One of the things I would look for is malware in either my computer or the router.

I think all of these suggestions are a great way to look at why the site isn't loading. If it continues to still have problems you can call our tier 2 team to create a ticket to investigate the single website not loading (rare but it has happened) but they WILL ask you to do the suggestions above first

Exede Brad, I have tried all of the above. I have called support and after all of the on hold and transfers I actually talked to someone who sounded like they knew what they were talking about but after almost an hour and being cut off and calling back I had to start from the beginning. One of the support techs offered an add on that only worked with Chrome but did not solve the problem when normally trying to access the site with any browser. Again, Exede is the only ISP where I cannot reach the site. Again, this web site is the only website I cannot reach through Exede. Can you offer any solutions? Can you tell me why Exede is blocking this site?

Did you reset the Host file? It can be a black hole for any web address if an entry is there to send that address into oblivion.
At least take to one minute to look at the host file. It looks something like this:

You may see an entry to send ncsecu.org to 127.0.0.0 or LocalHost. Either way, it will never be sought out on the Internet if the Host file directs any browser installed to look in a black hole to get that web address. It may be that your Host file is not bad, but this is one place worth looking.
The Host file is a great outbound firewall if used correctly. It comes in handy when guest are using your computer and you want to keep them from going to a particular website, or a few sites.

The website opens for me. It has to be something on your end. https://www.ncsecu.org/ If Exede was blocking this site, none of use Exede users would be able to access it.

I'll second Jim16 here. I had no problem opening https://www.ncsecu.org/ just now, even with my 0.15 Mbps virtual network adapter throttle in place. A screenshot is posted below. Again, I sense that something is wrong on your computer.

Google can be your friend. Search for Host file. Many items will appear for various versions of Windows. Choose one suitable to your operating system and follow instructions to reset your computer Host file.

Well the NCSECU website has been down nearly 4 days. They confirmed that there is a major problem loading the site, but now this is getting ridiculous. Never before has anything like this ever occurred since they first began on line accounts.

Thanks everyone. Apparently, they had a major DDOS attack , so they shut down all IP addresses from out side the US. (I am currently residing in Ecuador)

That would explain why you can't access the site. Using a US proxy may allow you to do so, though that may not be free.
