How do I know if my router is outdated?

connectivity is sketchy. In and out. Seems like its worse than in the beginning. 2 years ago.

I don't think a modem can be outdated, but there are different modems for different service packages. It may need replacing if it's giving problems, or it could be something else. I had my modem replaced once in 6 years, but it just completely stopped working.

Yeah, had mine for maybe 10 years.  If you think it's crapping out then new ones can be pretty cheap to buy these days. ( you are talking about a router and not your modem, right? )

Lissa, if you are having problems with your modem, you should send an email to the moderators at viasatlistens@viasat.com. Include your account number and phone number, and a brief description of your modem problem. The moderators have many tools at their disposal that the CS people don;t have, and are ViaSat employees at the corporate offices. They can see if your modem is having issues.

If you are having problems with your wireless router, as Jim16 said,, it may be best to get a new one.
