Will the freedom plan be available to any subscribing customers in the future. Just wondering. I totally love your service and never go over my monthly data allowance. Just wouldn't hurt to have more lol

If by any you mean all existing subscribers, probably not. It's currently limited to existing subscribers in selected areas based on underutilized satellite capacity for those areas. You can go to http://www.exede.com/internet-packages-pricing/service-availability, enter your ZIP Code and click Submit.

Once there you'll see whether the new plans are available to new customers, and there should then be a link to determine if the new plans are also available to existing customers.

Alternately, just send a email to exedelistens@viasat.com and ask about your ZIP code.

Those of us outside of the lucky areas probably won't see any relief until the new satellite is put into service (tenatively scheduled for 2016) - we're gonna need a bigger boat.

Teresa,

I'm glad to hear you are enjoying your internet service.  There is no defined timeline for the Freedom plan to be offered in other areas, so we ask for your patience. Our goal is
to offer as much data we can while keeping our network uncongested and speeds at
or above 12 Mbps. If we offered the Freedom Plan across our entire network at
the present time, it would lead to network congestion, which we’re trying to
avoid.  It might be a couple of years before we can offer these types of plans
on a wider basis in connection with the launch of our next satellite.

Meanwhile, our subscribers will continue to benefit from the five-hour Free
Zone, which we offer on all of our Classic plans and the Evolution plan. And
customers with the Evolution plan already are benefiting from unlimited webpage
access and email that never slows. If you’re having issues managing your data
with your current plan, give us a call and we can discuss the options available
to you now.

If you have not taken advantage of the Great Gig Give-a-way, please send me an email to exedelistens@viasat.com with your account and contact information.  I can provide you with further details on this promotion.

I agree with you, I am doing fine, but all the neat things I could do with my smart TV and Direct TV. I moved from the city where we had cable, unlimited and 50 mps for half the price. What a change. Direct TV and a lot of neat features that I would like to try. I have played with it after midnight and pretty cool, but with the speed there is a lot of things I cant do, it would take all night to down load, like a movie

I was told twice by Exede customer service that we should have unlimited in Virginia at the beginning of the year. So were they just blowing steam? Or is this happening? These data limits are for the birds!

Hello Donna, if you can send me your information to exedelistens@viasat.com, I can check your eligibility for the Freedom plan. We are always working with the goal of expanding this plan to all but nothing is set in stone at this time.
