VS2 gold 50 is now available in my area for new clients. However my upgrade option on the website says to call for a consultation. Has anyone called and what do they offer an existing client?

Someone mentioned a while ago that they wanted to explain (in person) that a new 24 month commitment was necessary if able to switch from a Viasat-1 plan to Viasat--2.

Hi Old Labs, yes it is necessary to sign a new contract. The new plans on Viasat-2 if you need the Viasat WiFi Gateway (VWG), will require a new modem, new satellite dish, TRIA, and an installation appointment. This is why there is a  new customer agreement with a 24-month minimum service term commitment.

There is no upfront cost to change the equipment.

Is there any benefit to upgrading my existing account, or should I just go to the website and set up as an entirely new customer.?

Just call and upgrade, no need to set up a whole new account.
