Exede signed my husband's name to a service agreement of 1 year

Exede signed my husband's name to a service agreement of 1 year without disclosing there was an agreement, then shut our service off after having not even a week and demanding $67 to turn it back on. They finally sent the papers with the electronic signature nearly 3 months after having the service put in. After receiving the papers we were told it was a 24 month service agreement, yet another bait you in and switch it up. The electronic signature on the paper no way near matches my husband's real signature. Be aware they sign your name and then threatened with sending fake amounts and fraudulent bills to credit agencies. I am currently sending this the bbb and possibly legal action against this company.

Hi Keith,
Was the Exede service and dish installed when they say you/ your husband signed the agreement? Did he sign using an electronic signature? Who said it was a 1 year service agreement?

Where you billed for the first's month service right after the install? Did you provide credit card info to cover the monthly charges on a monthly payment plan?

The only service agreements/ contract's I am aware of with Exede internet service is for 2 years. The electronic signature, as I did when I signed up, is just that, typed on the keyboard. The only way they could change it would be to use a different font.

Are you using the Exede Internet service now to write your post above? Do you still have the dish and modem? Exede does not randomly or belligerently install a dish system without someone requesting it.

If I where contemplating a visit to the BBB, I would look in the mirror real hard and sell my case's details to that person first. Then you will know how to proceed.

Hope it helps,

Keith - Wonder why Exede turned off your service?  At your request?  I suspect your husband did indeed sign the agreement electronically, by typing on the keyboard, perhaps without realizing that is what he was doing.  The "signature" is just an electronic font, I would guess that my signature is in the same "handwriting" as that of your husbands.  The customer agreement has been two years for as long as I can remember.  The 3 month lapse before you received a copy of the customer agreement is curious, I received mine via email the same day of the installation.  Did you go through DirecTV or some other 3rd party?

Labs, fyi: Exede installers come in three varieties: Dealers who sell our service and also do installs; contractors who perform installs for us from direct-channel and other sales; ViaSat employees in Colorado where we handle them ourselves.
