Every time I complain about speeds with Exede, I get some sad sob story about how it's not their fault they oversold and how I should simply just wait until new satellites are up. The fact is Exede caused this mess, and I'm frankly not going to give them any leeway. I don't oversell my services, most companies don't either. I get that I'm not GUARANTEED the speeds advertised......but when I log in every day and I can't load twitter 3/4ths of the time, it's just not acceptable.

The good news is I learned all of this before having to pitch this solution as a sure-fire, all-in-one solution to remote internet access. After dealing with Exede, I'd hands-down pay the THOUSANDS extra and have Covad pipe in internet through DSL lines. I've literally told several businesses in the Gilroy area to get ATT/Verizon and use this, while buying exede to use at night and totally sh#$ing on the satellite out of frustration.

I guess what I'm saying is yeah, I understand you oversold your services and now want me to deal with it. I'll stick with you guys until my contract ends, and while I'm at it, I'll do you a solid and have all my customers download 10-100gb of surveillance footage from their facilities per night to their in-house databases. If you don't want to make the service work for normal users, expect me to find every way to get my moneys worth, or at least cost your business that amount.

Keep removing my (rather unharmful) comments, it's not like there aren't enough IPs already to use, nor is it a really good indicator of how you guys handle your issues :)

Congestion is far from the only factor that affects internet connection speed. Many of those factors are beyond Viasat's control. They have no control over hops your connection takes which are owned and operated by other companies such as Qwest, ComCast, Cox and many more.

They have no control over the servers you connect to such as Twitter, EA, Trion, Boiware,WordPress,Watpad, AOO, etc....

As for the service working for normal users, it does, works just fine for me. Sure there are times I put myself in DAP and get slowed - that is my choice to do so, I know what using that amount of data will do and, it's up to me to decide if doing whatever is going to use a lot of data is worth being slowed for or not. Viasat doesn't tell me what I can and cannot do online (so long as doing it is legal and, not for commercial or harassment purposes.) I choose what I do online, how I use the data allowance I chose to pay for. If I want more at high speed, I can buy it, or move to a larger package (already on Liberty 30 but, a higher package is an option for many.)

As for Exede removing post, it is their forum so, they can post or remove whatever they like.

Richard -

I had very similar issues (and so did many others in my area) and eventually Exede was able to track down and fix the issue that was occurring.  Please reference the other thread on here about my Experience with Liberty Pass on Beam 329.

All I know to do is to keep getting as much empirical evidence as you can, document it meticulously, and present it to Exede.  Once a problem is shown to be a consistent just more than congestion, someone will eventually take notice.  For us it took about 2 months to get things resolved, but they were indeed resolved.

As to this:

I'll do you a solid and have all my customers download 10-100gb of surveillance footage from their facilities per night to their in-house databases. If you don't want to make the service work for normal users, expect me to find every way to get my moneys worth, or at least cost your business that amount.
As long as they are on a business plan, then this is within the terms of service, however careful in advising your clients as if they are not on a business plan, then use for commercial purposes is outside the terms of service.

I hope this gets resolved for you.
