Trouble porting phone number

why is it exede can take my phone number in 3 days and then find out i can not get internet service , and now i have no phone, had to call my old phone company be charge to get phone back and wait 7 days for hook back up

Hello Deborah, normally it can take 7-14 business days to port over a number. We like customers to have the phone number so that they can use the services once installed.
