Hi Exede Wizzards,

I'm a Computer engineer, and have been using exede for over a year.  I've noticed occasional data usage problems due to modem cycling in the past; but I can't monitor it like a hawk every day.  Well, this month the top has come off the popper, and I'm at 70% on day 16.  We're careful about our consumption, so this is unheard of.  Is there anything you can do to help?  Yes, I monitor my usage, and yes, we turn stuff off to save bandwidth.

I have had the same issue. I do not watch movies, listen to the radio or upload files. The only thing I do is work on photos that have been in my personal files for a large family project. Most of the photos are from my camera & have been there for years. Then suddenly in Aug. or Sept. after I added Exede phone service, which has supposedly no impact on internet use, I have used my data allowence usually by day 11. I am not satisfied with my service anymore. Oh yeah, let's not forget that both in Nov. & a couple of weeks ago I didn't have power for 5 days each time from the storms. My internet is password protected too.

Hi, just wanted to comment if i may.  It is my understanding, as it was explained to me, i may be wrong, but Viasat VOIP service does utilise consume the allocated data on your account, however, should you use up all data in your plan, the VOIP service will continue uninterrupted.   Although, if the VOIP service you use is with another company,  it WILL NOT WORK!! Please correct me if i am wrong,  as i strive to convey the facts as it was told to me the VOIP Dept. its self.

Roadrunn3rr50, the Exede Voice service does not use ANY of your data allowance.  Of course if you use another VOIP provider's service, that usage would count towards your data.

Hi Mike  Not much unlike you my increase in data started in October. I too keep tabs on my usage but having young adults and a senior looked inside my house for the issue. But I just upped my plan last month from 27 to 60 and got told I am 70% through this plan come on now. Triple the plan and now it's used up with one less person on! Excede I have been down more days this month due to my own network locking us out besides your down days. Something in your lines have to be miscounting our usage. We are also password locked and location protected.

Hi Darlene, first I want to let you know, the usage meter is internal to your modem.  It calculates traffic that is traveling across the modem, so there is nothing external that would be miscalculating your usage.  We can certainly look into your usage for you and see exactly what type of usage we are seeing and if there are any signals that there may be a technical issue.  Could you please email me your telephone number, and the best time to call, to exedelistens@viasat.com.  Thanks.
