I recently signed on for Viasat service, and was absolutely astonished to learn from my billing page and your user forum that it is not possible to see my past data usage on line. Data usage isn't even listed on my past bill!

Every other utility (electricity, gas, phone, water, internet) on the planet has offered this service for decades.  Why can't you?

https://my.exede.net/dashboard       but usually shows up incorrect data useage information. since they have no LEGITIMATE way of keeping up with data, obvesly we are being scammed. we just reset yesterday and the data is showing from 0.3 up to 1.9 and modem  has been unplugged. and before someone says it needs to catch up, I left the modem on for a good while after I turned off the computers so it had plenty time to catch up:)  also ever since the install the modem has been throwing errors guy came out and rerun the reinstall ,it worked fine for a bit and started doing it agin

Exede hasn't responded to an email to exedelistens@viasat.com asking why they do not provide usage details in writing.

I assume this is corporate policy, and basic dishonesty.  After all, if a customer doesn't have usage details in writing, how can he/she argue about the bill?

My solution was to get a LinkSys wireless router running the free logging firmware dd-wrt, which tracks every single data byte sent and received on a daily, monthly and yearly basis. I'll post comparisons of my usage data with the online "gauge" for the currents month's usage, as provided by ViaSat. See http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/index
