Had our dish damaged and turned off all power to unit. Was completely dissconnected for 3 days until fixed, had used 3 gb of data at that point. The day after repair we werent even home most of the day and we get a notice that we have used our 25 gb plan and going on Liberty pass. How can we have used 22 gb in the couple hours we were home or the 24 hrs after dish was fixed? We have had speeds of .25 to .75 since, and we are downloading the 1 thing we do between 3-6am when it is suppose to be free.

Hi Bill,

This could be a result of the dish being damaged. Or something could have happened (ie updates) immediately after. We would really have to take a look at it personally. Could you email us at exedeslistens@viasat.com with your account information so that we can review this for you?

It pains me to say this, but Brad is Probably right, if you didn't catch the damage right away, that 3Gb
you had the last time the modem updated the usage could turn into 25Gb in less time than you think if the modem is receiving garbage from the antenna.

Bill,
Regardless of how this turns out, I can see you reacted decisively and swiftly by killing power to the modem. That's about all you can do. But Bev is right There are electronics in the head of the antenna.
