First, if you are using a router, or the wifi modem connect your computer directly to the modem with an Ethernet cable. See if you have internet now. If so, then your router or, wifi card in your computer is bad. If not, we need to know what thew lights on the modem are doing and, if all lit or, solid blue on the wifi modem, what does your computer do when you try to go online?

I don't want to get too deep in the weeds with this but I believe I know what the issue is. Try unplugging your modem and leave it unplugged for more than 2 minutes, then plug it back in and let it boot up. If that doesn't work then if your computer is connected via wifi, go into your settings and have it "forget" your current connection, go straight from the modem to your ethernet port and bypass the router like Bev said. After you do this let it sit for a moment, it should pop up a window asking your if this is a Public, Work, or Home location...select home and you should be good to go.

I have had customer's computers, for one reason or another, not pop up this window and their laptop simply would NOT see the internet. Often I've had to have them restart (I realize you've already done this step) their computer and after it restarted, all of a sudden this window would pop up.

You can also set it to Home (Private) manually but there is NO way I can give you directions on how to do so....you could set 5 different laptops with a Windows OS in front of me and I'll guarantee you that each one of them will require a slightly different method of doing so. It often takes me a few minutes and I do this each and every day.
