Congestions, TCP Retransmits and bandwidth limits

I've been hitting my 15 GB bandwidth allocation within a very short period of time the last couple months.  I started watching my traffic between my router and the Exede modem and I know why.  Congestion on my beam is causing many TCP Retransmits.  This is causing my systems and the sites/services I'm using to continually send the same packet over and over.  I'm also seeing duplicate packets because of the congestion.

In my tests a 500 MB file was actually consuming 1 GB and sometimes more to fully upload or download.

Just sent an e-mail to: exedelistens@viasat.com but I'm thinking they are going to tell me I'm out of luck just like support does.

Support had the balls to offer me a $25 voucher for my trouble but thats all they could do.

My credit card on file is expired and I will not be updating my payment information until I get my issue resolved.

I have the same issue, All I get it there is a congestion problem. I have asked is this my problem that you have over sold what you can handle. Then they say "well from our end you are getting some great speed" then they want me to test off the router, I have the same issue. I have had this problem from day one. When they installed it was during the day. I was told by the installer that this is because it is a busy time of day. Now when you ask about at night, its because everyone is on the internet. It's really not the big of a deal, because I am just surfing. I try to never download until after midnight. I know we are paying for a certain speed we should get it, but my surfing goes fast enough for what i want it for. I have never been offered a credit, maybe I need to call and get angry at them. But I worked customer service, so I do not do this. Its not the persons fault that I am talking to. I am upset you was offered a credit and I never have been. I have voice my issue and they know just hoping they make a change, there is plenty of use. Good luck, they will just shut you off, and then turn you into the credit bureau. You really are fighting  a loosing battle, they have the power while you have a contract. But its just about renewal time, then I have it, I am sure I will still renew, I get good service, speed is a issue if you download.

I have the same issue. I can read email on iPad, go through 25-30 emails and all of a sudden they are back and unread. This month in particular eating through data at 4 x what I normally do and what I figure it should be. As with you they have denied any problems or issues. This is getting really old....

I dont know people, I cleaned up my computer, which means registry, junk files, program I havent used for ever and you got the idea, did need to download a fix, and it downloaded before I knew it. I went to speednet and check it and download was 25 mps. I was super amazed. I really think this is a pretty good company, they have some issues to work out, but for the cost and what you get I have not seen anything better. I was able to do a speed test using Verizon. This was not even with a outdoor antenna and the full install give you and that was the speed I was getting. Any time of the day, I checkit and it stayed the same. CON: if you go over your limit, they do not cut your speed, they start charging you in 1 gig increments. Not for me, As have said I mostly just surf during the day. If I want downloads, I just wait till midnight. I have heard you can get a program that will automatically download stuff at a certain time. Would be a good software to get, everytime you hit download it goes into a list. This way I would not have to keep a list, or worrying going to sleep early and not waking up till after. I don't go over that much, and if I do I never notice the reduce speed when just surfing. Not say WOW in the middle of the road yet. I still am a 110 percent cable person, we do not have it. If we did, i would have it and pay early disconnect fees. Mostly I just do not like direct tv, and the commercial knocking cable. They say on time after a storm, lines was knoced down and no cable. Well wonder if they had no electric too. That was one time, my dish goes out if a bird fly by and pees. I have never had to know the snow off my cable line, like we have  to do with a dish. I could go on and on, internet is really cheaper too.

If you are on the newest iOS, the problem with unread emails, marking them read, and them coming back showing unread is actually a known issue with iOS.  We have quite a few clients that get this problem on a frequent(ish) basis.  The fix is usually to delete the mail account from the device and add it back.  Sometimes it comes and goes, sometimes we have to redo the account.

It may or may not be the connection dropping in and out in your case, but in the cases we have seen the devices were using FIOS or Cable and still having the same problem.

I hope they get you squared away either way.
