Close proximity of satellite dishes and interference with internet?

My daughter's Exede dish is within 300 feet of mine out on the lake here. She lives 2 doors down & she does use Wi-Fi exclusively, & SHE DOES have a router,so could the engineers who claim I have a router be seeing HER equipment? Yesterday when she came over she remarked that she had HER Wi-Fi available on her iPhone as she was walking over here.
If her Wi-Fi extends to MY back yard, can THAT be causing all MY problems?
I have NO ROUTER, NO Wi-Fi internet, just plugged directly in to the Exede ViaSat modem.
My data usage & internet connection are both the pits.

Oh, BTW, my daughter also has DISH for her TV & THAT satellite dish sits between our 2 Exede dishes as that small area is the only area that has a clear shot at the horizon out here on the lake. Any conflict there?

What you are describing has nothing to do with whatever your problem is. You can have the antennas side by side without interfering with each other. Having said that. What is your problem? You never said what your problem is. If you email me your modems mac address found on the bottom, I can pull your information up and see what is going on. Send to david@lakecountrysat.com. I am an Elite Dealer for Exede.

Hi, David & thanks. The problem is & has been that late at night, in the beginning, I get disconnected from the internet. This lasts about 2 to as much as 4 hours. Running Windows diagnostics, I am told there is no connection to the DNS host/server. The Exede icon on my task bar also shows this. I almost never show an IP address, as Windows has informed me, saying I have no VALID IP address. I am hard-wired into the Modem, wouldn't use Wi-Fi for a million bucks for reasons I won't go into, but Exede shows I have a ROUTER.  NOPE. I have a blue cable running from my Dell Mini into the Modem & out of the modem comes a plug that goes into the wall & a co-ax cable that goes all the way out to my dish by the lake.  I use 10 gigs of data in about 10 to 15 days. My daughter next door, on Wi-Fi uses less than 4 in the same time frame. She watches videos, live-streams, plays online games, as does her husband on HIS device, & I do NONE of the above & have NO other devices, just the Dell & a 10-year-old cellphone shaped like a brick, but I am ALWAYS in data restriction, & I run too slow to even listen to audio books most days. My son is IT, works for the Navy support folks out of Virginia & he has remoted in via Team Viewer to try to find the problem 3 times now, gave up, as did his friend in NC who has long been in the computer business like you. Unplugging the modem & plugging back in SOMETIMES works, but it's about 50-50. When I do unplug, the top box on the properties of the modem is always UNCHECKED & that means Microsoft doesn't see my DNS, so I recheck that box, hit configure & back in business a little over half the time. I can usually count to 7 when opening a new tab & getting to a webpage, slow is redefined. There's more, but this should give you an idea, & yes, my tech son told me since I have NO ROUTER that NOTHING Wi-Fi should bother me. I sent my MAC address to Exede as requested early yesterday, have heard NOTHING from them. Calling their customer support is an exercise in futility, as many here have posted. But thanks for replying.

And I HAD explained this thing in another thread, BTW, so Exede is well aware of all the nuances of the multi-layered probs.

Oh, & by audio books, I mean the website BibleGateway where one can listen to all the books of the Bible, NOT anywhere else.I did do 12 years of college decades ago, so I'm not completely tech illiterate, just did NOT take but 1 class in computers in 1998. Did I mention I tend to go into too much detail? :-)
