Vonage is only $10/month now, and I'd like to switch to it from my landline. The Exede VoIP is to expensive. Exede claims that their VoIP is tuned to their system, but it seems to me all VoIP probably works the same. I know there will be latency, but will it be usable with Vonage?
Yes the vonage should would just fine...BUT the difference is that with the exede voice adapter it does not count toward your monthly data, all voice calls are completely separate and data free with their voice service. Also, with their voice adapter all voice calls will have top priority of the network over all other traffic.
Vontage will work on Exede, however, unlike Exede voice, the data used will be charged against your monthly allotment. This may or may not be an issue for you, depending on how much you are using the internet. Also be very aware that if you run over your data allotment, Vontage will most likely not work at the throttled speed you will have. Exede voice is not affected by going over the data limit.
Hi Clarity, this information had to be further reviewed by our engineers concerning VoIP compatibility and Exede usage. To better clarify myself, although a customer can use a different VoIP device with our service such as Vonage, all usage from the device will count against their overall data allowance. Thank you
