Hello, after enduring 3 months of subpar performance from the equipment provided by Viasat I’ve decided to go with a personal router and was hoping to get some suggestions/advice on a new router that would best suit the situation. I live in a smaller 3 bedroom house with 2 others who use the network as well with most of our useage being in the form of social media, light video streaming and your other daily, run of the mill online activities so any advice, suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I’ve found that for someone with moderate technical abilities, router shopping can be a bit overwhelming

A while back there was a lot of discussion on here about routers.  At the time, I think one of the major concerns was being able to monitor data usage.  Most recommendations seemed to favor Asus routers.  I don't remember specific models but I'm thinking something  with 68 in it, and above.   Search , Asus router, and you can probably find the threads.

Just for clarification, what's your specific issue? Is the issue better if you are wired directly into the Viasat equipment? Was it better more than 3 months ago, if you had it? Which plan?
