4 flashing blue lights

Internet has been out for 3+ weeks. Third service call next Tuesday. What does 4 flashing blue lights mean. Service guy wouldn't replace modem last time because it is new from 1st service call from lightening strike. I think it is a bad modem. Any thoughts?

The first light does not blink, the other 3 should be blinking

Describe the lights behavior with more detail.

Are the lights all pulsing in a uniform pace?
Are they individually frantically flashing, not as a group?

What is your connection status as displayed on modem interface?
192.168.100.1

Disconnect the coax cable (first power down modem) then power up the modem again
After a couple minutes, has the light's behavior changed?

All 4 lights blinking. Steady but not rapid. All together at once. On modem interface. Where does it say status. Thanks much for your help.

And already tried powering down, etc even plugging into an outlet in another room.

Just call tech support and tell them modem is getting no power. Automatic service call and skip the several minutes of the troubleshooting script.

Peggy, go to this link and you will see the 4 dots lined up horizontally under MODEM STATE
Depending on your browser they should be all green or maybe gray and nothing directly below them - other than Online on left side and Online Time on the right side.

If it says Syncing or something else, there is a problem that will likely require a service callĀ

I found the modem manual.
Like I thought, when all 4 flash together they call it Fault State

Only time I have seen that a long time ago was when the puppy chewed the coax and it was shorted out.

Unscrew the coax from your modem after powering it down
Leave coax disconnected & turn power back on - see what lights do after a minute
