"We've detected an outage in your area"

My service went down last night about midnight. As of 10:25 this morning it still hasn't come back on. I've done all the standard resets etc. I finally broke down and called customer service. An automated message said "we've detected an outage in your area". "Your area?" Seems to me that with satellite "my area" would be a whole lot of peoples' area. My area is southwest Missouri.

Anyway, does anyone have any information on this outage? What's the ETA on getting it back up? The automated phone system really, really did not want to connect me to an operator. Multiple times it said "there's an outage. Do you need help with anything else?"

I've been an Exede customer for a few years, and up to now service has been satisfactory. I've never seen an outage of this length before. We're heading into the holiday weekend and I rely on my internet for work, so I'm concerned I'll be dead in the water for most of a week. I could really use a little peace of mind on this, or at least some information.

Thanks in advance,
Will Mahan

Well here’s some peace of mind. ViaSat has a lot of government contracts. You can rest assured that ViaSat will have service back on ASAP. The military doesn’t do without long :).

I’ll also say mods are very active on here and will see this.

Thank you for the quick response. My inability to track down info was giving me some anxiety. I feel much better knowing it's being addressed.

Can't say anything about that ETA, my info came from the guy in our corporate headquarters that sent a tech out to the gateway to fix the problem.  Hopefully, mine is correct, so everyone can get back online!
