After being out for nearly an hour due to thunderstorms, Viasat came back smoking. I wish I could get this level of performance on a routine basis.

Pitiful, too bad their engineers don’t manage the system/number of subscribers so they can provide a reasonable level of service 24/7., say between 5 and 10 Mbps. About 6 months before I left , I lost all confidence in V, my advice is to bail when you get the opportunity.

I had very low expectations and Viasat never even met those. I get 5-10 Mbps with a Jetpack and no drops. Viasat was around 1 Mbps and dropped out up to a dozen times a day, even when the weather was good. Anything more than a drizzle and I had nothing.

I was okay with Viasat for several years.  When they unilaterally changed the terms and conditions of my plan (slowing me down to a crawl regardless of how much data I had used in a month), I changed my internet provider.

I also knew weather would be an issue, but it is worse than I thought. It is common to have afternoon thunderstorms here in northern PA and we are out of internet now for 1-2 hours each afternoon and evening. It takes surprisingly little rain to knock out the signal.

Was through there a couple times at the beginning of the month.  You guys do have a lot of rain pop up in that area this time of year!

Yes, that is the good and bad of being downwind of Lake Erie. We seldom have severe droughts and almost always have some snow in the winter. However, we also often have afternoon rain if the wind and fronts are coming in from the west.

150GB customer mad about 2Mbps. You do know there was a policy change where you can be slowed down at any time, regardless of data used?

Count yourself lucky you ate getting 2Mbps. I was getting 200kbps before I canceled Viasat (I had a 150GB plan too.
