. we seem to always be running out of data before our cycle. I hate the way they say watch your data usage. And all they give to show how much data you have used is that stupid meter that just shows you have used this much. But it doesn't show you exactly what is using up your data so that you know exactly in what areas you need to be careful the data usage meter needs to have show that you used 16% of your data watching videos 28% in uploading large email attachments. 12% downloading stuff.

You are not alone. Everybody struggles with data usage, even those of us who never go over as web sites consume more and more data.

If you send an email to exedelistens@viasat.com along with your account information (they can't determine it from your login credentials here), the general categorized breakdown can be provided.

I can say with some certainty that efforts to beef up the current usage metering are underway including the ability to see that general breakdown of usage. It will most likely not be detailed enough but will point you in the right direction.

Even with that information, determining exactly what is is contributing to those numbers can be a challenge - search this forum for 'data usage tips' for a wealth of recommendations.

Hello as Old Labs suggested, if you contact us at exedelistens@viasat.com we can look at this in more detail for you. It could be a number of things. One thing that the last month or so has seen is IOS updates along with app updates that tend to happen after every IOS update. I'll be more than happy to review this for you

NetBalancer is a free program that shows EXACTLY what programs are uploading and downloading an exactly how much - in real time!

It will also show thieves, like schost.exe which can be hijacked and download a LOT of data !
