Wonder how well this is going to work? Xbox one with Gamepass.

Just got an Xbox one and got gamepass where I can download games for free and play. I've got the business 35 plan and have about 5 gigs of priority data left out of 75 gigs which resets on Saturday. Only issue is the game I want to download is 76 gigs. So I'm going to attempt this while out of priority data overnight and see if I can get it to download without wasting priority data. Wish me luck. Otherwise I'll be taking it to a friends house with Comcast and download it. I'll let you all know how it turns out.

It is very unlikely you can download 76 Gig in the three hours of “free” time. Good luck! I’m guessing you use up your monthly allotment overnight. LOL.

The business plans don't have free times like the liberty plans do. So once I'm out of priority data well it can be decent or bad depending on congestion. I was just going to do it overnight as the congestion should be less and since my month is almost over I wont burn through an entire months of priority data on the first day. I can hit 40 - 50 down in the early hours will still in priority.

Have you been playing (trying to) first person shooter type games yet?

You might need a new hobby if that is what you are wanting to do...

I'll use cellular for that. It doesn't have fast speed at my house but a much better ping time. I'm in a deadzone so my phone or tablet has to be close to a cell booster for it to work with hotspot being on. I was on the Verizon prepaid unlimited for a while but I actually get better performance out of ViaSat. I'm one of the luckier ones as it has to be raining pretty hard for my internet to drop.

I'm ok with not playing FPS. I'm more into strategy time games where a second delay isn't an issue.

Well it was successful. Started the download at 4:40 this morning and it finished a few minutes ago. So 76gb in 8 hours over Satellite isn't bad.

Wouldn't it be 21Mbps (Megabits per second) and 2.5MB/s (Megabytes per second). Was that what your were trying to say? I know the capitalization between the two always confuses me and I normally just spell it out. But i was impressed with that speed considering I'm over my monthly allowance by about 85 gigs at the moment.

Yea. You are correct. 21Mbps

So you did about 8 GB/hour so yes not bad.

A lot depends on the time of day. If you started the download at 4:30pm, I doubt you would have done that in 8 hours.

But it worked for you, so that is great!

Yes it did. I've seen so many horror stories on here I didn't think that it would be possible. So either my beam isn't that congested or business plans are a lot better. Unfortunately I don't know of anyone close that has ViaSat to compare.

It's very possible. I did a 37GB download the other night in under 6 hours on my Freedom plan. The key is to do it when your beam isn't congested. I started it around 2AM and it finished between 7:30 and 8AM.

That's awesome.
