Windows 8 has a built-in data usage meter. Simply right click on your wifi network and select data usage. Mine showed that I had used 9.95GB in the last 60 days and I keep going over my 15GB limit every month and I do not buy movies or play games.

Not defending exede but the windows 8 usage meter is very flawed and I've found doesnt come up with data usage that is anywhere close to accurate. So i wouldnt realy on that to determine your usage. There are alot more data usage monitors out there and most are probably alot more accurate than the one built in to windows 8.

Hi Harrymeshek,

I'm not sure how accurate Windows 8 is for tracking Satellite data usage.   You may want to search over the internet for a Satellite tracker and compare usage there.  If you have any other questions or concerns about your account, please send me an email to with your account and contact information.

If you haven't tested the accuracy of the Windows 8 meter then your conclusion that Exede is way off is either:
  1. Based on an assumption that Microsoft products are inherently accurate, or
  2. Because the Windows 8 tool generates an answer that confirms your conclusion.
