More reason to hold on to your Windows 7.

Eh, I'll worry about it if and when I need to.  Sticking with W10.

I warned everybody that Win-10 was a Trojan Horse.  They suckered people into a "free upgrade" and screwed them ever since.   I'll keep my Windows 7 and look  at the updates I don't have to install.  I'll keep using my Logitech C-920 USB cameras inside that are H264 and my Windows 7 can use the Samsung SSD 960 PRO NVMe M.2 2TB to boot and run this computer.  I don't miss the gimmicks of Windows 10 that are supposed to make it a better OS, it's not an OS, it's an outrage.

Rumored to be a managed service targeting enterprises and businesses that don't want to manage hundreds or thousands of devices - you'll lease a device (think Surface) and it will be managed by Microsoft cradle to grave (or until lease expires).

Sometimes I miss having Windows at home for games that were fun 15 years ago (tycoon world building games) but I've been doing well with the Mac

The "free" upgrade was the biggest joke there was!

I run Windows 10 Pro on one laptop and it is a joke. Keeps loading stupid Disney games and ads, and this is the BUSINESS edition!

Oh, wow.  A clean system on boot/reboot is even better.  I'll have to take a look at it.  Thanks.  :)

It looks like I'll have to do it from Linux Mint, so I won't have to use the "two USB stick" method.  I do have a spare HDD in this computer that isn't presently connected, and I think it's got Linux Mint on it, though I can't remember for sure.  If it doesn't, I have a Linux Mint install DVD I can use to install it.  Then I'll download Tails and create the USB stick from within Mint.

I'll also have to wait to do it after 2AM, as anything sizable I wait until my Bonus Zone to download.

Thanks again for the info.  It should be an interesting thing to test out and play around with.  It should work with both my desktop and laptop, and maybe even my notebook.

Works with any 64 bit computer.

I use the two stick method. You just need two 4GB minimum sticks. The OS isnt really that big to download.

On boot it might display a lot of weird stuff. Don't worry, eventually you should get to the startup screen.

Once you get established, you can read about creating a persistence volume, loading packages, etc. Personnally I just use it to play around with Linux to try and learn more about it. A quick and dirty OS to boot to without disturbing my Windows devices.

Well, so much for the gaming idea.  The site that most people used to get their game ROMs, Emuparadise, stopped hosting them due to the threat of Nintento taking action.  Ugh.

I'm glad I got the ROMS I wanted when I did.  There are other sites, but this one was really the only one that people could trust to not have ROMS that were actually viruses.

I feel bad for those who've just gotten their equipment, but don't have ROMs yet.
