Why doesn't my Wildblue internet work when it is windy? It is very frustrating when I cannot get on when needed due to wind!!!!!

It doesn't work because the wind is knocking your dish out of alignment. It will start working again whenever the wind stops.

Not a very good excuse.  Our dish is braced in multiple places and does not move around.  Still frustrated!!!!!

Yes, why don't you contact customer support - this isn't a direct support venue.

Exactly right. Lot of different variables between the two.

Your Directv dish is smaller and doesn't have yo transmit a signal 22,000 miles into space. That's a big difference.

I never have any connection problems when it is windy.  It sounds like your dish isn't securely mounted.

Definitely try what Old Labs suggested. There's a chance the dish is misalligned as that does cause issues sometimes and I'm willing to bet that might be the case. Call us at
855-463-9333 and we'll get that sorted.

I did remove your contact information as this is a public and open forum and is not a direct way to contact Viasat customer support.

Just like when it snowed Friday night at my house. Why does the internet cut when it snows? Oh yea, snow covering the dish.

Sometimes you have to do some diagnosis on your own to figure the root cause.

My internet quit working a few months back when it snowed in Louisiana.  Once the snow melted off the dish, Viasat was rocking and rolling again.

Ditto for what everyone else said if you want it fixed. Sign up for Easy Care and have someone come out to realign the antenna.

Well, when the wind blows it changes the air density.  The stronger the wind, the "thicker" the air, and the harder it is for that signal to get through.

And yes, I'm just kidding.  I actually saw some numskull post this once as an answer to a similar question, and the person wasn't joking.  He was being serious, and truly believed it.  SMH.

LOL.  It was on the HughesNet board, but it wasn't one of the reps.  The thread actually ended up being deleted as it started getting nasty due to a couple of individuals.  It was hilarious, though.  Believe me, it took every bit of strength to keep from replying to that post.
