Have you tried unplugging the power from your Exede modem, waiting a minute or so, then plugging the power cord back in?

What kind of information does the Exede modem status page report? go to this url for the status of your  modem.

It should show online status, signal strength, Rx SNR above 4.0, etc. on the Tria page, are there any red marks. They all should be green check marks.

Hi Rhonda, I'm sorry to hear your router stopped working and you can't connect with the new one.  We can review some things to see what may be causing your issue.  Please send your account and contact information to exedelistens@viasat.com. Thanks so much and we look forward to hearing from you.

Assuming the ViaSat modem is functioning properly (test by bypassing the router and connect directly to the modem) , a controlled power up sequence may help:

  1. Power down all devices (modem, router, computers, etc.)
  2. Wait a minute or so as Steve notes.
  3. Power up the modem only.
  4. Wait for all 4 modem lights to become lit (indicating the modem's registration process is complete.
  5. The power up the router waiting a minute or so.
  6. Then power up the other devices.

What kind of router do you have?  If it is a Cisco, Linksys, or Belkin, that is probably your problem.  These routers do no like our service.  For whatever reason they keep locking up and have to be power cycled, and sometimes that doesn't even work.  We use DLINK N300 or Better.  These routers perform flawlessly on Exede.

No router can work with a bad patch cord.  Try a different one just for fun.
