wifi modem burns all my data, I want the regular modem

Switched to the wifi modem In March, since then all my data is gone in a week, never had this problem with the old modem, tech has been to my home twice and said I should be able to get the modem, call customer care and they say no, what do I do?

Something is using your data. That could be someone outside your home using your wifi, if your password is not strong enough. More likely it is other devices connected in your home. TV receivers, Smart TVs, tablets, cell phones, Smart Home devices like Alexa, etc....

Insure that you have a strong password and, no devices except those you specifically authorize can connect to your wifi.

I live in the country and the nearest house in over a mile away, my cell phones uses my Verizon data, not connected to wifi, do not own smart tv smart home devices

I never had this problem with the regular modem, the tech who came to my house last week stated the wifi modems do burn more data

Were you able to turn off the wifi on that modem?
