Why is ViaSat offering cheaper services to 1st time user????

OK We Just Switch to the WIFI Modem and signed up for the Unlimited  or 150Gig Plan for $100.00 a month with a speed of 25mps down load. I have been with Exede Since 2013 anyrate Last night I see a Commercial on TV for Viasat/Exede Internet advertising My plan for $50.00 per month with down load speeds of 30mps.  So whats the Deal, Viasat????  I am paying Top $$$ for down load speeds which I am not getting.  Numerous Download test and during peak hours I am getting 10mps at best.  Unlike lots of user of Exede, I don't have the option of switching services. We live out in the middle of know where and don't even have local phone service or cable.  With all the congestion during peak hours, why is Viasat adding even more customers. And Viasat I want a discount of some type since you are offering New Comers a better deal than someone who's endured your services for nearly 5 years now.

The bronze plan is available to new subscribers in my area for $50 a month. That price is only for the first three months and then it goes back to the normal price of $70 a month.

They are doing the three month discount for new customers on just about every beam.

It really isn't that big of a deal.

Not unusual in the industry stall to offer new customers discounts to draw them. Hughesnet does it, Directv does it, the cell carriers do it, etc.

So a new customer saves $150. As Stephen says, that isn't that big of deal when a new sub is on the hook for 24 months.

I didn't but at least this time I got a good install and didn't have to provide my own ground rod and wire it in myself.

When I switched from Wildblue in April 2012, I got a free installation plus the offer of a lifetime equipment lease for $250 with the 24  month contract. That lifetime lease was well worth it, it has saved me $240 a year since May 2014.

Me thinks that the OP is comparing apples and tomatoes, since the TV commercial they saw for $50 a month (for 3 months) was for the Bronze plan and the $100 a month they now switched to is for the Silver plan.

People ignoring the "up to" speeds are just as capable of ignoring everything else.
