Hello Harold,

Could you email us at exedelistens@viasat.com? We can look into if there's any performance issues or if there was a point of sale problem.

My speed is slow also.....
1.95
Mbps download
2.77
Mbps upload
Latency: 47 ms
Server: Chicago, IL
Your Internet speed is very slow

Internet download speed is very slow. Web browsing should work, but videos could load slowly.
I need and expect faster service I don't really want to change providers but if it can't get faster I will be forced to change.

Something wrong with your numbers.  Latency for a satellite is 600 ms or more.

the high latency is within the expectations of the signal going at the speed of light to our satellite and back http://www.exede.com/what-to-expect/

Hah I have been getting a whole .20 mbs download speed. Yes .2ombs!  I have followed the instuctions for restarting the modem and router over 20times today and I did 5 speed tests after each restart.  Ionce got 2mps but only once the average was .20mbs!

Same problem.  Just had it installed, last weekend.  Tested out at 16 Mbps with installer here.  Quickly declined from there.  I have rebooted many times.  it will get better for a brief time, then back to 2 Mbps or less.  Sometimes my upload speed beats the download speed.  This is looking like a huge mistake on my part.  I am now stuck for 2 years.  On top of that, it says I've already used 15 GB.  What???  Not really possible.  Could automatic modem updates be stealing speed and using my data???  Not happy at all.  I am considering eating the cancellation charges for the full 2 yr contract.

Same here. In the mornings it's about what it should be. But from the time I get home at around 5:30-6:00 P.M. Central until at least 11 P.M. it's been at barely 1Mbps the past two nights. I've restarted my equipment multiple times. I hope I'm wrong but I think Exede may have jumped the gun and given too many people the Freedom plan before they launched their new satellite.

Just got Viasat internet service two weeks ago.  Discussed where to install satellite with technician and went in the house.  After installer was finished we tested internet at about 15Mbps which is ok.  After the installer left we went outside and found our dish was installed on the front of our house on the siding.  The house is white and the dish is black, can you say eye sore?  Called to complain about it and they sent out another technician to relocate for $95.  The new technician informed us that the service wouldn't work in any other location and didn't want to move it.  So needless to say we still have a black dish on the front of our house.  Since then, our internet speeds has dropped dramatically.  Last night we were under 1Mbps speeds.  We are not happy with the service at all from the install to the speeds.  DO NOT GET VIASAT INTERNET!!  They put you in a 2 year contract for a reason because as soon as they technician leaves they drop your internet speeds and you are locked in.  I will fight this and get out of my contract.  I am going to document my speeds over a specific period of time to show that Viasat isn't holding up to their end of the bargain.  Another company trying to screw over the average American.  You can find dial up and probably get better speeds and pay a lot less. BE WARNED>

Why did you bump a 3 year old thread to complain about Viasat? Then you complained about the color of your dish. Give me a break, I rarely side with Viasat but will do in this case. You seem to be the type of person who would complain about your beer being too cold.

For one, I didn't bump a three year old thread to get a reply from someone like you.  I was merely warning others that are receiving new internet services that this is what happened to me.  Maybe you should get a life and not live on posts and forums and try to talk down to people and hide behind your computer.  I didn't complain about the color of my dish, I complained about the placement of the dish.  Would like a dish put on the front of the house where your front door was?  You probably live in a trailer house with a bunch of old dishes lying around you cook eggs on anyways when it gets hot outside.
